Resource Parent Workshop

Parents and Caregivers of children in services at GHS: Has a child you care for been exposed to trauma? Have they been involved in or seen a frightening, dangerous, or violent event?

Traumatic experiences can bring on strong emotions and physical reactions that can last long after the event. Signs of trauma can include:

  • Strong and long lasting emotional upset
  • Problems relating to others or forming attachments
  • Paying attention and academic difficulties
  • Behavioral changes
  • Difficulty sleeping and eating
  • Physical symptoms, such as aches and pains

Join us for a 4-week series where you will learn how to:

  • Respond effectively to the challenges of children who have experienced trauma
  • Help your child develop healthy relationships, recognize and enhance their strengths, and develop the skills needed to grow into healthy adults
  • Take care of yourself and advocate for services and resources for your child
