Genesee Health System Purchases Former Baker College Buildings to House New GHS Main Campus
GENESEE COUNTY, MI – Genesee Health System (GHS) and Greater Flint Mental Health Facilities, Inc. have closed on purchasing the former Baker College Undergraduate Building and Library – Flint campus to become the New GHS Main Campus. This new main campus will house all staff and services currently at 420 West Fifth Avenue, Flint.
“GHS has to evaluate and evolve how we work with individuals and the entire community,” said Danis Russell, CEO of GHS. “The passage of the Mental Health Millage in 2021, the expansion of the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic model, the number and make of our consumer base will continue to change and grow. We must remain fluid in serving Flint and Genesee County residents. The new GHS Main Campus will greatly enable us to expand health and wellness activities for individuals and staff.”
The Greater Flint Mental Health Facilities, Inc. owns all GHS buildings and funded the purchase.
In the coming months, GHS will share updates regarding the move, and GHS New Main Campus Community Talks for the community are being planned for this summer and early fall.
