GHS Expands Services to Include More Options for Uninsured

Genesee County, Michigan – Genesee Health System (GHS) is expanding services by opening a new Outpatient Services location on May 1st, 2023, at 1513 S. Center Road in Burton. The new location will begin providing services to uninsured residents of Genesee County, with plans to expand in the future. People who need outpatient services will meet with a licensed therapist to help work through mental health concerns. Services are offered on a sliding scale fee based on what the individual or family can afford.

Examples of common reasons to seek therapy include stress, depression, feeling overwhelmed, worry, anxiety, and grief. Previously, GHS only offered therapy services to people with more complex needs who had multiple services through a care team.

“This clinic will begin providing additional services to individuals and families without insurance,” said Danis Russell, CEO of GHS. “Our goal is to offer these services to many more who are in need, regardless of insurance, as soon as possible.”

To access this and other services, residents should call GHS at 810.257.3740 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and ask to speak to a care specialist. The care specialist will work with individuals and families to find the best programs to meet their needs and help them navigate their options.

This program is funded by the Genesee County Community Mental Health Millage and grant funding from SAMHSA.

Genesee Health System provides mental health and substance use services to Genesee County residents for adults and children, with a focus on the health of the whole person.
