How to Apply for a Position
To apply for a current position electronically, click the “Current Career Opportunities” link below. Click on the position you are interested in applying for and then click “Apply”. If you have trouble submitting your application online or have a general question about applying for an open position, please contact us at (810) 257-3709. There is a link below for a printable copy of the application if you choose to submit your application via fax or mail to the Human Resources Office. If applying by mail, interested applicants are to submit an application to the Human Resources Office, 2nd Floor, 1040 W. Bristol Road, Flint, MI 48507. Our fax number is (810) 257-3755. Applicants must clearly show they meet the minimum qualifications. If there is a posting deadline, applications must be received no later than 5 pm on the date.
Resume must include the following information: Name of employer, month/year you were hired, month/year you left, if the position was part-time or full-time, and the job duties you performed while in the position.
Please Note: Applications must be completely filled out and required documentation (copy of college transcripts, professional license, certifications, etc.) must be submitted in order for your application to continue in the selection process. Please make sure to check the job posting for any "Additional Requirements."
Hiring Procedures and Standards: Applications are not reviewed until after the posting period has expired. Applications are thoroughly screened on the basis of job-related criteria such as skill level, paid work experience, education, and training. Education requirements must be met by the close of the posting period. The most qualified applicants are referred for interviews. Candidates will be notified by mail of their standings.
Veterans must submit Form DD214 to determine eligibility for Veterans’ Preference.
