Support for Young Adults

Young adulthood is a period of significant transition. Many individuals are balancing education, employment, financial independence, relationships, and identity development as they learn to navigate adulthood. These changes can bring both opportunity and pressure, sometimes affecting emotional well-being.

Suicide is the second leading cause of death among individuals ages 20–34 in the United States (CDC). Mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, and substance use can contribute to emotional distress during this stage of life.

Genesee Health System (GHS) provides behavioral health services that support young adults through therapy, psychiatric care, substance use treatment, and crisis services.

You Don’t Have to Figure It Out Alone

Young adults in Genesee County can access behavioral health services through GHS that support mental health, life transitions, and crisis intervention.

While many young adults are building independence, support systems remain important. Parents and caregivers seeking guidance may find helpful information on our Parents & Guardians page, and individuals transitioning from adolescence may benefit from services highlighted on our K–12 Youth page.
