Genesee Health System hosts Pillars of Hope Speaker Series with Best-Selling Author
GENESEE COUNTY, MI – Genesee Health System (GHS) will host its Pillars of Hope Speaker Series with best-selling author Jason Wilson on Wednesday, October 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1040 West Bristol Road, Flint.
“The Pillars of Hope Speaker Series is another way to explore mental health topics and resources with the community,” said Dexter Clarke, GHS Director of Faith-Based and Community Engagement Initiatives. “We are excited to bring someone of Jason Wilson’s caliber to Genesee County to discuss breaking free from emotional incarceration. We want to continue creating an inclusive environment that gives hope and helps those with behavioral and physical health needs.”
Jason Wilson will speak about breaking free from emotional incarceration.
Jason Wilson is a best-selling author and founder of the Yunion, a Detroit-based non-profit dedicated to youth development. In 2008, he established the Cave of Adullam Transformational Training Academy (CATTA), renowned for its Emotional Stability Training® for African American boys. Jason’s work gained international recognition in 2016, leading to a documentary produced by Laurence Fishburne’s company, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2022.
Attendees will learn ways to identify various forms of trauma (in the Black male) and then find resources to manage those emotions and communicate effectively with those who are a part of their lives.
