The assessment
Helps:
- Identify a child’s strengths and weaknesses
- Understanding the reasons behind a child’s difficulty (i.e., processing/thinking, learning, emotions, behaviors, etc.)
- Identify educational and behavioral health treatment needs
- Provides a full list of recommendations and next steps
- Access recommended services, such as educational, behavioral health, and medical healthcare services
Generally includes three appointments:
- Clinical interview between the parent and a psychologist
- Psychological testing for the child with a psychologist
- Feedback session
Who is eligible?
- Must have active Medicaid and reside in Genesee County
- Must be actively engaged in treatment with a GHS network primary case management program
- Be under the age of 21
- Have had a positive brief screen (MCHAT or SCQ) within the last 90 days
