Assessment
- How can an assessment help?
- Identify a child’s strengths and weaknesses
- Understand the reasons behind a child’s difficulties (e.g., processing/thinking, learning, emotions, and behaviors)
- Identify educational and treatment needs
- Provide a comprehensive list of recommendations and next steps.
- Access recommended services (such as educational, behavioral, and medical services)
· The assessment process includes:
- Psychological testing (can take 4-5 hours on average)
- Feedback Session
Who is eligible?
To receive a Medicaid-covered neuropsychological assessment, the individual must meet ALL the following:
- Be between 3 and 17 years of age
- Lived, worked, or attended daycare/school in Flint or surrounding areas supplied by the lead-contaminated Flint water, anytime from April 2014 to September 2021
- Must have active Medicaid and reside in Genesee County
- Must be actively engaged in treatment with a GHS network primary case management program

How do I get started?
Call 810-257-3740 to start the process of receiving services through GHS. Ask for an intake appointment and for lead exposure testing.
Once the referral has been received, we will contact the parent/guardian for next steps.
