The assessment

Helps:

  • Identify a child’s strengths and weaknesses
  • Understanding the reasons behind a child’s difficulty (i.e., processing/thinking, learning, emotions, behaviors, etc.)
  • Identify educational and behavioral health treatment needs
  • Provides a full list of recommendations and next steps
  • Access recommended services, such as educational, behavioral health, and medical healthcare services

Generally includes three appointments:

  • Clinical interview between the parent and a psychologist
  • Psychological testing for the child with a psychologist
  • Feedback session

Who is eligible?

  • Must have active Medicaid and reside in Genesee County
  • Must be actively engaged in treatment with a GHS network primary case management program
  • Be under the age of 21
  • Have had a positive brief screen (MCHAT or SCQ) within the last 90 days

· Once we have received a referral, we will contact the parent/guardian for next step
